Beijing 2022 updates

1. Olympic Villages officially open

Olympic Villages for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games in downtown Beijing, the Chinese capital's Yanqing district, and Hebei province's Zhangjiakou officially opened their doors to athletes and team officials on Thursday.

2. Chinese Olympic team finalized

On Thursday, China announced its 176-athlete team for the upcoming 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games.

The number of the athletes is two times higher than that of the previous Games in PyeongChang, and they will compete in 104 events across 15 disciplines in all seven Olympic winter sports.

Beijing 2022 Opening Ceremony

On Feb. 4, 2022, Beijing's National Stadium will once again stage an Olympic Opening Ceremony, this time for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games. Beijing, which hosted the Summer Olympics in 2008, is the first city to host both Winter and Summer Games.

FIFA Club World Cup

The FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2021 will see the world's top teams come together in February to compete for the most prestigious honor in global club football. Matches will kick off on February 3, with the final taking place on February12.

CAF Champions League winners Al Ahly SC, CONCACAF Champions League champions CF Monterrey, winners of the AFC Champions League Al Hilal SFC, Copa Libertadores champions SE Palmeiras and Chelsea, European champions, complete the lineup.
