Two goals each from Kevin de Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez gave Manchester City a 4-1 win over Manchester United which only served to highlight their superiority in Sunday's derby and keep them six points clear at the top of the Premier League.

De Bruyne put City ahead in the sixth minute after a move involving Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva, and although Jadon Sancho scored an excellent individual goal to level the scores in the 22nd minute, that merely seemed to spur City onto better things.

De Bruyne re-established their lead from close range in the 28th minute as Pep Guardiola's men took complete control with Mahrez adding a third, with the help of a slight deflection with 21 minutes left.

The Algerian then rounded off the win with his second of the game to make the difference between the two teams absolutely clear.

On Saturday, Sadio Mane's 27th-minute goal gave Liverpool a nervy 1-0 win at home to West Ham that keeps them in the title hunt.

Both sides had chances in the game, with Luis Diaz seeing a shot cleared off the line, while Manuel Lanzini fired West Ham's best chance over the bar.

Chelsea put uncertainty about the club's future behind them as three goals in 10 minutes put them on the way to a 4-0 win away to Burnley.

The floodgates opened at the start of the second half as goals from Reece James and two from Kai Havertz made it 3-0 in the 55th minute before Christian Pulisic scored a fourth with 20 minutes left.

Bukayo Saka scored one and set up another as Arsenal moved into the top four with a thrilling 3-2 win away to Watford to further deepen the home side's relegation worries.

After Watford had a goal ruled out after just 20 seconds, Martin Odegaard put Arsenal ahead after finishing a well-worked move with a low finish.

Watford's Cucho Hernandez equalized with an overhead kick, but the impressive Saka restored Arsenal's lead after a backheel from Alexandre Lacazette.

Gabriel Martinelli scored from outside of area early in the second half, before Moussa Sissoko gave visiting fans a nervy last few minutes as he drove home Watford's second with three minutes left to play.

Wolverhampton's European ambitions suffered a blow as first-half goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta and Wilfried Zaha condemned them to a 2-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace.

Jesse Marsch's first game in charge since replacing Marcelo Bielsa as Leeds United coach ended in defeat as Harvey Barnes' 67th-minute strike gave Leicester City a 1-0 win at the King Power Stadium and condemned the Whites to a fifth consecutive loss.

Early goals from Ryan Fraser and Fabian Schar helped Newcastle United to their fifth win in seven games as they won at home to Brighton, who pulled a goal back early in the second half thanks to Lewis Dunk.

Brentford ended a run of four points from their last 12 matches, after a hat-trick from Ivan Toney earned them a 3-1 win away to bottom side Norwich City, who look increasingly doomed to the drop.

Aston Villa claimed a convincing win over Southampton with a 4-0 win thanks to goals from Ollie Watkins, Douglas Luiz, Philippe Coutinho, and former Saints striker Danny Ings.
