Two goals each from Kevin de Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez gave Manchester City a 4-1 win over Manchester United which only served to highlight their superiority in Sunday's derby and keep them six points clear at the top of the Premier League.

De Bruyne put City ahead in the sixth minute after a move involving Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva, and although Jadon Sancho scored an excellent individual goal to level the scores in the 22nd minute, that merely seemed to spur City onto better things.

De Bruyne re-established their lead from close range in the 28th minute as Pep Guardiola's men took complete control with Mahrez adding a third, with the help of a slight deflection with 21 minutes left.

The Algerian then rounded off the win with his second of the game to make the difference between the two teams absolutely clear.
