Shanghai Shenhua claimed a 3-1 win over Hebei FC, while Wang Qiuming's equalizer helped Tianjin Jinmen Tiger held Chengdu Rongcheng to a 1-1 draw in the 2022 Chinese Super League (CSL) on Thursday.

Cao Yunding provided a moment of inspiration as he pounced on Liu Ruofan's blocked shot, giving Shanghai a 1-0 lead in the 50th minute. Three minutes later, Zhu Chenjie struck a penalty for Shenhua after Peng Xinli was fouled by Hebei defender Ding Haifeng.

Another penalty from Peng in the 68th minute secured the win for Shanghai although Hebei's Zhang Wei pulled one back with a header in stoppage time.

"We have expected that it would be tough to break their defense; our players on the pitch did a fantastic job in the second half and we sealed the win," said Shenhua coach Wu Jingui.

In a match held under heavy rain, Gan Chao opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a thunderous shot inside the top right corner for Chengdu, but Wang broke Chengdu's hearts as he tapped in from close-range in the 60th minute.

Elsewhere on Thursday, Shandong Taishan won over Changchun Yatai 4-0, while Dalian Pro drew with Zhejiang FC 1-1.

Looking ahead, Shenzhen FC will meet the Cangzhou Mighty Lions, while Beijing Guoan goes against Meizhou Hakka on Friday.
