China women's quadruple advanced into Sunday's final race after winning the heat with six minutes and 15.13 seconds at the 2022 World Rowing Cup II in Poznan, Poland on Friday.
Chen Yunxia, Lu Shiyu, Lyu Yang and Cui Xiaotong were among favorites in Heat 2 and the Olympic champions proved their quality. Starting perfectly, China and the Netherlands left Czech Republic and Poland behind before the Chinese rowers had the last word.
In the men's quadruple sculls, the fans also watched a tight battle between China and the Netherlands. The Dutch won by a fraction in 5:43.34, while Zang Ha, Yi Xudi, Liu Zhiyu and Adilijiang Sulitan crossed the line with 5:43.47 and will take part in the repechage race.
Zou Jiaqi and Qiu Xiuping showed their power in the lightweight women's double sculls rivalisation, winning their heat in 6:53.43 against Ireland and France to make the semifinals.
The Chinese women's four of Dong Xiya, Zhou Yuxiu, Zhang Peixin and Xu Xingye also secured their spot in the semifinals after taking second place behind the Australian team.
Xu Yingying and Shen Shuangmei took second place too in the women's double sculls Heat 3 after finishing just behind the United States with a result of 6:52.40.
The World Rowing Cup II in Poznan will last until Sunday.
