Wuhan Three Towns edged Shanghai Port 1-0, extending its unbeaten record to 10 matches as the first phase of the Chinese Super League (CSL) concluded on Tuesday.

Wuhan enjoyed a dream start as Liu Yiming headed home in the fourth minute. Shanghai created a few chances in the second half, but didn't manage to find an equalizer.

With nine wins and one draw, Wuhan leads the 18-team standings with 28 points, four points clear of second-placed Shandong Taishan.

In another game, Wuhan Yangtze River and Shanghai Shenhua played out a 2-2 draw. Christian Bassogog opened the scoring for Shanghai in the sixth minute with a volley, while Wuhan leveled the game 10 minutes later through Bruno Viana's shot in the box.

In the 23rd minute, Wuhan gained the upper hand as Hu Rentian fired home, but Shanghai leveled the scores in the 49th minute when Cao Yunding converted a fine solo effort.

"Cao is one of the best footballers in China. He is doing great," said Wuhan head coach Li Jinyu.

The CSL will resume home and away games when the second phase starts in early August.

"We are thrilled that the CSL is going to resume home and away games. The whole team will make more efforts to deliver better performance in the second phase," said Li.

Also on Tuesday, Tianjin Jinmen Tiger crushed Cangzhou Mighty Lions 3-0.
