Real Sociedad have confirmed the signing of Japanese international forward Take Kubo from Real Madrid.
Kubo joins the side from San Sebastian for a fee of around six million euros, although Real Madrid maintain 50 percent of the rights from any future sale. He has agreed to a contract until the end of June 2027, with a release clause of 60 million euros.
The 21-year-old is the third of Real Sociedad's summer signings, along with Brais Mendez, who arrived from Celta Vigo, while teenager Ali Cho has joined from French side Angiers.
A former member of the Barcelona youth system, Kubo joined Real Madrid in 2019, but struggled to win a place in their first team squad, partly due to the fact he doesn't have a European Union passport.
That saw him sent out on loan to Mallorca in the 2019 season and then to Villarreal the year after. However, he was unable to get game time at Villarreal, so he spent the second half of the 2020-21 campaign with Getafe, before returning to Mallorca last year.
He has netted six goals in 95 La Liga appearances, although a good number of those games were as a substitute.
