China's Zhu Lin failed to make it to last eight after losing to No. 7 seed Anastasia Potapova from Russia 6-4, 7-6 (8) in the second round of the WTA Prague Open on Thursday.

Zhu, who had defeated Russian Vitalia Diatchenko 6-1, 6-1 in the previous round, led 4-2 in the first set and 5-3 in the second, but was overturned afterwards by Potapova in both sets.

Potapova will contend for a semifinal spot with Estonia's top seed Anett Kontaveit, who beat Lucie Havlickova of the Czech Republic 6-4, 6-3.

Another Chinese player Wang Qiang will take on Magda Linette of Poland in the quarterfinals.
