China advanced to the semifinals of 2022 AVC (Asian Volleyball Confederation) Cup for Men after beating Iran 3-1 on Friday.
The Iranian U20 team was only able to cause trouble for its opponents in the third set after China has taken a 2-0 lead.
China soon regained control and crushed the young Iranian side with effective serving in the fourth set, winning the match 25-19, 25-22, 21-25, 25-16.
The victory allowed China to remain unbeaten in the group and qualify for the semifinals.
China coach Wu Sheng said despite his team chiefly using the tournament as preparation for the upcoming 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, they would try their best to get the best result.
China will take on South Korea, who staged a thrilling 3-2 comeback against Australia, in the semifinals.
The other semifinal will see Bahrain face Japan.
