Despite a miserable performance by goalkeeper Zhang Chong, Dalian Pro beat Cangzhou Mighty Lions 2-0 in the 14th round of the 2022 Chinese Super League (CSL) on Thursday.

Shang Yin put Dalian ahead just four minutes into the game as he slotted home from close range a blocked corner kick. Cangzhou had the chance to level the score a few minutes later when Dalian goalkeeper Zhang failed to collect a loose ball, but Bughrahan Skandar's shot was off target in front of an empty net.

Zhang offered Cangzhou another good chance shortly after as his clearance hit Cangzhou forward Oscar Maritu, but the rebound went wide.

Lin Liangming made it 2-0 for Dalian in the 39 minutes following chaos inside the box.

Dalian's Yan Xiangchuang sent the ball into the net with his chest following a cross from Lin during injury time, but it was called off due to Lin's foul on the defender.

Zhang made more mistakes in the second half, but both teams failed to score again, giving Dalian their first home win of the season.

The win enabled Dalian to overtake Cangzhou in the 14th place of the 18-team table, five points clear of the relegation zone.
