Chinese snooker player Yan Bingtao swept past Ricky Walden of England 5-0 to secure a spot in the last 16 at the European Masters in Furth, Germany on Thursday.

Other Chinese interest came in 24-year-old Zhou Yuelong's 5-1 defeat of England's Jack Lisowski, and Si Jiahui outplaying his compatriot Xiao Guodong to win 5-3.

Pakistan's Farakh Ajaib beat Marco Fu of Hong Kong, China 5-3 to set up a clash with tournament favorite Judd Trump.

Trump continued his bid to claim his third European Masters crown by beating Andrew Higginson 5-3 to reach the last 16.

Ali Carter edged past Stuart Bingham 5-4, courtesy of an excellent 103 break in the deciding frame. Mark Williams took center stage in the evening session and got the better of fellow Welshman Dominic Dale 5-3.

World No. 10 Shaun Murphy saw off Chris Wakelin 5-3 and will face Kyren Wilson in the last 16, after the Englishman defeated Jimmy Robertson 5-2.
