Roger Federer is going to pair up with long-time rival and friend Rafael Nadal in Friday's doubles match at the Laver Cup. It will be the Swiss legend's final pro match in his career.

Federer, 41, announced last Thursday that he would retire from Grand Slams and the ATP Tour after the Laver Cup held from September 23 to 25 in London.

The 20-time Grand Slam winner had decided earlier that he would only play one doubles match at London's O2 Arena and his partner was confirmed to be 22-time Grand Slam champion Nadal on Thursday.

The pair representing Team Europe will play against Team World's Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe Friday evening.

"Hopefully together we can create a good moment and maybe win a match," said Nadal.

The 2022 Laver Cup is the fifth edition of the tournament where six top European players against six of their counterparts from the rest of the World.
