Beijing ends Shanghai's winning streak in Chinese Super League

Beijing Guoan ended Shanghai Port's three-game winning streak 1-0, while Shandong Taishan edged Meizhou Hakka 2-1 in the 21st round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Wednesday.

In the 21st minute, Gao Tianyi opened the scoring for Beijing with a quick goal. Shanghai pushed hard for an equalizer but was unable to find the net with former Espanyol striker Wu Lei sidelined due to injury.

In other match, Montenegrin center Nebojsa Kosovic scored the opener for Meizhou in the 66th minute, before Brazilian striker Cryzan found the equalizer for Shandong with his 11th goal of the season two minutes later. In the 87th minute, Shandong took the victory when Zheng Zheng's freekick was deflected into the net.

With the win, defending champion Shandong cut the gap behind league leader Wuhan Three Towns to one point.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, Austrian defender Richard Windbichler scored the sole goal in Chengdu Rongcheng's 1-0 victory over Wuhan Yangtze River, inflicting the fifth straight loss on their opponent. Changchun Yatai was held to a goalless draw by relegation-threatened Guangzhou FC.
