Shanghai claimed its two consecutive wins after beating Fujian in a five-set thriller in the 2022-23 Chinese women's Volleyball Super League on Friday.
The women's group B game held in Changzhou, Jiangsu province, witnessed last season's bronze owner Shanghai recover from one set down to defeat Fujian with 21-25, 25-19, 25-19, 22-25 and 15-12.
Shanghai spiker Samantha Bricio got the game-high 27 points and her teammate Zhong Hui added 23. Zhuang Yushan contributed 23 points for Fujian.
With a notable 12-4 advantage at serve, Yunnan bounced back from the league's first-round loss, defeating Hebei with 25-13, 15-25, 25-16, 18-25 and 15-8.
Also in women's Group B, last season's runner-up Jiangsu smashed Guangdong 25-17, 25-12 and 25-21.
In the men's league, Shandong downed Liaoning 25-17, 20-25, 25-13 and 25-19 at a group D match held in Wuyuan, Jiangxi province.
Shandong staged an 11-3 dominance at block and a 10-3 advantage at serve, which secured its victory.
Also in Group D, Tianjin beat Fujian 3-1, while Shanghai defeated Shenzhen 3-1.
The men's Group C matches held in Qinhuangdao, Hebei province, saw Henan beat Huangshi 3-1, Baoding edge Sichuan 3-2 and Beijing's straight-set win over Yunnan.
