CSCLF Jaguar Land Rover China Children & Youth Dream Fund Football Donation Ceremony held in Shanghai

The China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) Jaguar Land Rover China Children & Youth Dream Fund Football Donation Ceremony was held on Nov. 21 in Shanghai. The event, which was held both online and in-person, was attended by a number of notable figures including representatives from CSCLF, Jaguar Land Rover China, the British Consulate in Shanghai, the Putuo District Youth Education and Activity Center, and former member of the Chinese Women's football team Zhao Lina, as well as teachers and students from Jinshajiang Road Elementary School.

Song Jian, director of the Fund Department of CSCLF, expressed her hope to use football as a platform to promote the values of perseverance, teamwork, and self-improvement through public service initiatives. Song said that the foundation would continue to collaborate with Jaguar Land Rover in the future in the areas of social welfare, innovative education, and cultural exchange to facilitat children’s development.

Noting that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level between China and Britain, Li Dalong, president of joint marketing sales and service agency of Jaguar Land Rover China and Chery Jaguar Land Rover,said that the company is delighted to fortify cultural exchange between the two countries through the Dream Fund project and impart the spirit of athletics and instill inspiration in young Chinese individuals.

The Dream Fund will donate training footballs to Shanghai primary and secondary schools through the Shanghai Middle School Sports Association to support the development of youth women's football. During the donation ceremony, star alumna Zhao Lina imparted her blessings and encouragement to the teenagers via video link.

Since inception in 2014, the CSCLF Jaguar Land Rover China Children & Youth Dream Fund has provided assistance to over 600,000 youth through public welfare initiatives such as vision care, dream classes, and youth football development programs. The Dream Fund Football Campus, one of its flagship initiatives, has gained widespread support among young people. Through the efforts of coaches, youth training, and cultural exchange in football between China and the UK, this program aims to to harness the talent and passion for football in China at the grassroots level, encourage the healthy growth and holistic development of young people, and strengthen the bond between the young people of China and the UK.
