Chinese Super League (CSL) club Wuhan Yangtze River have turned down their player Ming Tian's salary request on grounds of misconduct and contractual disputes.

The CSL side made a statement after the defender publicly demanded the club's administration to pay his salary.

"Ming Tian contravened the club and team's disciplines as he refused to play for the club with various excuses in the 2022 season," the Wuhan-based club said.

"There are serious problems and disputes in the contract Ming Tian signed with the club," said the Wuhan side.

The Wuhan club is reported to owe Ming nine months' salary.

An unnamed coach and the players he introduced into the club will not be paid either, the club added.
