American Jordan Stolz claimed the men's 1,500m title at the ISU Speed Skating World Cup in Tomaszow Mazowiecki, Poland on Friday.
The world junior champion crossed the line in one minute and 45.44 seconds, which is the new track record at the Arena Lodowa.
Dutch Kjeld Nuis took the silver in 1:46.16 and Norway's Sander Eitrem settled for the bronze with 1:46.56. China's Ning Zhongyan finished 10th in 1:47.31.
Austrian Vanessa Herzog won the women's 500m gold in 37.96, beating South Korean Kim Min-sun by 0.12 seconds in the final. Dutch Jutta Leerdam got the bronze. China's Jin Jingzhu finished 13th in 38.82.
Norway's Ragne Wiklund turned out to be the best in the women's 3,000m. The 22-year-old proved her quality to set a new track record in 4:02.79. Czech Martina Sablikova was second with 4:05.67, and Joy Beune of the Netherlands finished third in 4:08.35. China's Han Mei clocked 4:11.08 to take the seventh place.
In the last race of the day, Canada won the men's Team Sprint in 1:19:53 ahead of Norway and the Netherlands. China finished seventh in 1:23.20.
