Heat roll past Grizzlies, Sixers snatch 6th straight win

The Miami Heat set a season-high points total in a 138-119 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, while the Philadelphia 76ers beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 118-109 for their sixth straight victory on Wednesday.

Seven Heat players scored in double figures. Bam Adebayo notched 26 points, and Tyler Herro added 24. Jimmy Butler scored 23 points, Max Strus had 12, Caleb Martin finished with 11, and Kevin Love and Gabe Vincent each had 10.

The Heat moved within two games of the Brooklyn Nets for sixth place and the final guaranteed playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Miami ended the third quarter on a 14-0 run, and turned a 14-point lead into a 105-77 blowout going into the final period.

Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 25 for the Grizzlies, who also had 14 from Luke Kennard, 12 from Ziaire Williams and 11 apiece from Desmond Bane and Tyus Jones.

Joel Embiid had 36 points and 18 rebounds for the Sixers. James Harden added 28 points and 12 assists, and Tyrese Maxey had 23.

With Embiid in foul trouble, the Cavaliers attacked the rim and closed within 110-107 before Maxey drained a 3-pointer and the 76ers made five straight free throws in the final 51 seconds to close the game out.

Caris LeVert scored 24 points and Donovan Mitchell added 21 for the Cavaliers.

Elsewhere, De'Aaron Fox hit a 3-pointer with 0.7 seconds left to power the Sacramento Kings past the Chicago Bulls 117-114, the Houston Rockets beat the Los Angeles Lakers 114-110, the Boston Celtics held on to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 104-102, the Dallas Mavericks got past the San Antonio Spurs 137-128 in overtime, and the Los Angeles Clippers withstood Stephen Curry's 50-point effort to beat the Golden State Warriors 134-126.
