CSL: Shanghai see off Wuhan in fiery clash

Shanghai Port defender Li Shuai stood out against Wuhan Three Towns to help Shanghai notch a 3-1 victory in the 2023 Chinese Super League (CSL) on Wednesday.

Shanghai Port broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute when Li Shenglong headed home from a Li Shuai cross.

Just three minutes later, another Li Shuai cross led to Gao Zhunyi's own goal, helping Shanghai take a 2-0 lead.

In the 78th minute, Oscar's precise pass found Wu Lei in the box, gifting the latter an easy tap-in.

In stoppage time, Abdul-Aziz Yakubu's header pulled one back for Wuhan.

Elsewhere, Tyrone Ryan Conraad netted twice, locking Meizhou Hakka's 3-1 win over Beijing Guoan. Conraad's first goal was a shot from the left flank of the box in the 19th minute, which hit the post and bounced into the net.

Eleven minutes later, Ru Zinan rolled the ball in the box back to Conraad who scored his second goal.

Before the halftime whistle, Beijing goalkeeper Han Jiaqi parried the ball into the net while he was trying to stop Rodrigo's close-range shot.

In the 86th minute, with the assist of Yu Dabao, Wang Ziming grabbed a consolation goal for Beijing.

Also on Wednesday, Nantong Zhiyun held Dalian Pro 1-1, Qingdao Hainiu crushed Shenzhen FC 5-0 and Changchun Yatai drew Zhejiang FC 2-2.
