CSL: Wuhan hold Beijing, Shanghai net big win

Beijing Guoan drew 1-1 with Wuhan Three Towns at home while Shanghai Port smashed Shenzhen 4-1 in the 2023 Chinese Super League on Sunday.

Before the start of this matchday, Wuhan Three Towns was only one point behind Beijing Guoan in the standings, and both sides put a lot of pressure on the other's defense. In the 15th minute, Arijan Ademi's pass allowed Fang Hao to slot home the opener for Guoan.

Wuhan kept their heads and Li Yang headed in the equalizer in the 81st minute to see the spoils shared.

In another clash, Wang Shenchao scored for Shanghai Port just six minutes into the game against Shenzhen, though Zhang Yuan equalized in the 41st minute from the penalty spot.

In the 48th minute, Oscar struck home to help Shanghai take the lead again, before Li Shuai twice broke through Shenzhen's defense and found Wu Lei, gifting him two easy tap-ins.

In the day's other matches, Shandong Taishan drew 1-1 with Nantong Zhiyun, Dalian Pro and Changchun Yatai played out a 0-0 stalemate, and Zhejiang beat Tianjin Jinmen Tigers 2-1 at home.
