Brazil's Brandao Lysy sisters, Beatriz and Nichelly, finished all of their competitions at the Chengdu Universiade on Monday.

"We found it's particularly amazing to be here. We derived pleasure, friendship and incentive from the Universiade," the sisters said.

Beatriz, 25, had competed in the women's 100m and 200m breaststrokes, also in both women's and mixed 4x100 medley relays.

Nichelly, 20, had been in seven women's events -- all three individual breaststroke events, the 200m butterfly, the 200m and 400m medley, the 4x100 medley relay -- and the mixed 4x100 medley relay.

Although they didn't take any medals, the Brazilian team's coach Ramos De Camargo said the sisters had given their best performances ever.

"It's nothing like swimming in Brazil. We competed with a different level of motivation. We are always proud to wear the Brazilian cap and repping our country!" said Beatriz, who is studying medicine in Barao de Maua University Centre now.

The sisters are very close to each other. "We did everything together all the way across the world, being here with my little sister competing together was so amazing," said Beatriz.

Nichelly was still in great excitement. "I was talking to Beatriz before the competition. 'Look at us! Look at where we are! Look at what we are doing!'," she said, "It's so surreal that we were together in different lanes in the same pool! I didn't even know that I had this dream, but I fulfilled it here!"

The sisters noted that they also had a very satisfying experience of meeting many new friends and getting to know different cultures in China. Nichelly is studying journalism in Paulista University, she was also interested in the journalists who interviewed her at the FISU Games, because she's going to take media jobs after graduation.

"This for sure is the most different culture I've ever met!" Nichelly said. The sisters are going to see giant pandas and travel around Chengdu later.
