Team One of the United States claimed the mixed team gold at the FIS 2023/24 aerials World Cup tour on Sunday.

Both host China and the United States featured two teams apiece competing in the second round of Sunday's finals.

U.S. Team One, consisted of Winter Vinecki, Christopher Lillis and Quinn Dehlinger, accumulated a combined score of 347.85 points to clinch the gold.

China's Team Two, comprising Chen Meiting, Wang Xindi and Li Tianma, finished second with 316.63 points.

The bronze medal went to China's Team One with 287.07 points, which was represented by Kong Fanyu, Zhang Yifan and Qi Guangpu.

"Our young athletes performed well in this World Cup stop, and I'm so happy to see that," said Qi, a four-time Winter Olympian as well as men's aerials champion at Beijing 2022.

"It's true that in my age I have to put more efforts in adjusting my fitness, but I want to find my rhythm back in order to prepare well for the next Winter Olympics," said the 33-year-old veteran.

The next stop of FIS 2023/24 aerials World Cup tour will be held in Deer Valley, the United States next February. ■
