Nottingham Forest has confirmed former Valencia, Wolverhampton and Tottenham boss, Nuno Espiritu Santo as their new head coach with a contract until the end of June 2026.

The Portuguese coach had been tipped to take over at the City ground following the club's decision to sack Steve Cooper on Tuesday after a run of poor results that has seen them slip to 17th in the Premier League.

Nuno returns to the UK after being sacked by Saudi Arabian club, Al Ittihad in November, despite leading them to their first league title in 14 years in May.

His last job in England saw him struggling in a short spell with Tottenham, but previously he did an excellent job at Wolves, leading them to promotion to the Premier League and to consecutive seventh-place finishes and a place in the quarterfinals of the Europa League.

Nottingham Forest confirms the 49-year-old will take his first training session this Wednesday and will be in the dugout for Forest's home game against an in-form Bournemouth on Saturday.
