Paris Saint-Germain are set to bolster their defense in the January transfer window by signing Lucas Beraldo from Sao Paulo, according to widespread media reports in Brazil.

The reigning French Ligue 1 champions agreed to a deal worth 20 million euros for the 20-year-old, the Lance news portal reported on Saturday.

It added that the center-back would travel to Paris to undergo a medical in the coming days before his move was officially announced.

Beraldo has made 48 first-team appearances across all competitions for Sao Paulo since being promoted from the club's youth academy in July last year.

Central defender and captain Marquinhos is currently the only Brazilian in Paris Saint-Germain's squad.
