Phil Foden scored twice and Erling Haaland added a third in injury time as Manchester City came back from a goal down to beat Manchester United 3-1 in the city derby on Sunday.

The result means Pep Guardiola's side remain a point behind Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title.

Marcos Rashford stunned the fans in Ethiad Stadium with a thundering shot into the roof of the net to put United ahead after eight minutes, before City took control, calving out a host of chances.

Erling Haaland was guilty of one of the worst misses of the season before halftime, but Foden turned the game around with two goals in the second half.

Foden drove past a defender and scored with a powerful left-foot shot in the 56th minute. On 80 minutes, he scored again with a smart finish after exchanging passes with Julian Alvarez. Haaland rounded off the win in injury time to highlight City's superiority.

Sunday's other game saw Bournemouth win away to Burnley to ease their relegation worries, while hammering another nail in the home side's chances of avoiding the drop.

It was the same old story for Burnley, who played some good football in the first half after falling behind to a powerful shot from Justin Kluivert in the 12th minute.

Vincent Kompany's side had chances to level, but failed to take them and Antoine Semenyo showed the difference when he netted Bournemouth's second of the game in the 88th minute to condemn Burnley to their 11th home defeat of the campaign.

On Saturday, Darwin Nunez came off the substitutes' bench to score a dramatic 99th minute glancing header from Alexis MacAllister's cross to give Liverpool a 1-0 win away to Nottingham Forest and assure they maintain their lead at the top of the table.

Aston Villa remain fourth thanks to Lucas Digne's 89th minute header which gave his side a 3-2 win after a brave Luton fightback.

Ollie Watkins gave Villa a two-goal lead at Kenilworth Road, but second half efforts from Tahith Chong and Carlton Morris looked as if they had saved Luton a point before Digne's goal.

Tottenham remain fifth as three goals in the last 15 minutes from Timo Werner, Cristian Romero and Son Heung-Min, helped them overturn Eberechi Eze's 59th minute opener for Crystal Palace at the Tottenham Stadium.

There were calls for Mauricio Pochettino to be after Chelsea needed a late header from Axel Disasi to save a point away to Brentford.

Chelsea had led through a Nicolas Jackson goal, but Mads Roerslev equalized and Yoane Wissa put Brentford ahead with a spectacular overhead kick as Chelsea again struggled to convince against a rival struggling with injuries

Newcastle claimed a comfortable 3-0 win at home to Wolverhampton with Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon scoring after 14 and 33 minutes, before Timo Livramento added the third goal in injury time.

West Ham United scored twice in injury-time goals from Tomas Soucek and Edson Alvarez to win 3-1 away to Everton.

Beto put Everton ahead in the 56th minute, but Kurt Zouma quickly equalized for West Ham.

Finally, Fulham enjoyed a comfortable win at home to Brighton with first-half goals from Harry Wilson and Rodrigo Muniz and a third effort from Adama Traore in injury time.
