Bayern Munich overturned the 1-0 away loss to Lazio with a 3-0 home win on Tuesday, advancing to the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals with 3-1 on aggregate.

Harry Kane scored twice to pave the way for the 3-0 victory.

The German giants started offensively minded, knowing that only a victory would ensure a ticket for the next round, while Lazio sat back and lurked for counterattack opportunities.

Bayern assumed full control and laid a siege to Lazio's goal area, but neither Jamal Musial nor Harry Kane was able to overcome goalkeeper Ivan Provedel.

The hosts dominated possession, but Lazio remained dangerous as well as Ciro Immobile headed narrowly wide from apromising position in the 37th minute.

Two minutes later, Bayern broke the deadlock as Kane flicked on Raphael Guerreiro's effort, leaving Provedel hapless.

Increasing their pressure, Bayern doubled their lead just before halftime with Thomas Muller heading in Matthijs de Ligt's cross.

The Bavarians maintained their momentum after the restart.

Lazio couldn't keep Bayern's prolific striker at bay, and Kane sealed the deal on 66 minutes when Provedel palmed away Leroy Sane's hammer into the path of Kane, who made no mistake and tapped home the rebound to make it 3-0.

Muller had the golden chance to extend the lead, but the German veteran rattled only the woodwork from the edge of the box in the 71st minute.

Bayern's progression was never in danger as Lazio lacked in penetration and posed no threat to host's well-organized defence.

"A perfect night. It was a big game for us. Being 1-0 behind after the first leg it was a big moment in our season to go through. Top performance by everyone. Nights like this can really change the season. Really proud of the boys. We must keep the momentum up," said Kane.

"The team staged a solid and disciplined performance. We scored our second goal in the right moment and secured a deserved win as we played well for over 90 minutes," commented Tuchel.
