Oscar and Matias Vargas scored last-minute goals as Shanghai Port beat Chengdu Rongcheng 2-0 in the Chinese Super League (CSL) 13th round on Wednesday.

The home team had several goal attempts but couldn't break the deadlock until the 87th minute, when Feng Jing was brought down in the box and the referee awarded Shanghai a penalty, which was converted by Oscar with composure.

In the stoppage time, Chengdu defender Feng Lei mistakenly passed the ball back to Vargas, who cut into the penalty area and fired the ball into the far post, sealing the 2-0 victory for Shanghai.

With a five-game winning streak, Shanghai Port now ranks second in the league table with 30 points, three points behind city rival Shanghai Shenhua. Chengdu Rongcheng sits third with 25 points.

In the other match on Wednesday, Peter Zulj scored in the eighth and 45th minute respectively to put Changchun Yatai ahead, but newly-promoted Qingdao West Coast came back in the second half to level the match 2-2, with Eduardo Henrique's goal in the 57th minute and A Lan's stoppage time equalizer.
