Bolivia manager Oscar Villegas has promised a high-octane approach from his players when they host Venezuela in a World Cup qualifier on Thursday.

Bolivia are ninth in the 10-team South American zone group, with just one win from their first six qualifiers, while Venezuela are fourth with two wins and three draws so far.

"We are going out with the objective to win the game irrespective of how Venezuela plays," Villegas told a news conference.

"Our aim is to be as dynamic as possible and apply high pressure for the duration of the match."

The qualifier will be played at Municipal Stadium in El Alto on the outskirts of capital La Paz, more than 4,000 meters above sea level.

Villegas said that despite his team's advantage at high altitudes, Bolivia were underdogs for the fixture.

"I don't like to talk about who is the favorite," he said. "It's going to be a tough match and we know that every opponent in these qualifiers is difficult."

Bolivia will meet Venezuela on Thursday and Chile in Santiago five days later.
