CBA: Beijing Secure No.1 Place in North

CBA powerhouse Beijing consolidated their dominance in the North Conference with an easy road victory over Xinjiang 98-83 on Sunday.

It was the fourth straight win for the Beijing Ducks.

Williams Nate nailed a game-high 29 points for Beijing, while super center Mengke Bateer, who tops the CBA All-Star ballot, added 25 points and 12 rebounds.

Coleman Lorenzo led for Xinjiang with 22 points. Lu Xiaoming and Xue Yuyang added 22 and 11 respectively.

With only four rounds left in the regular season, Beijing has secured the number one place in the North with 30 wins, five more than Xinjiang.

League leader and defending champion, Guangdong, suffered a 109-94 defeat to Bayi.

Shanghai's third loss in a row smashed their hopes of entering the play-off.

It other matches, Zhejiang beat Dongguan 123-107, Jiangsu whitewashed Fujian 104-79, Jilin stunned Shandong 101-85 and Liaoning trounced Henan 105-90.
