Chinese Gold Haul at Asia Championships

The Chinese swimmers made another haul of the gold medals on Friday, enlarging their golden collection to 42 at the 7th Asia Swimming Championships since Sunday.

 

Of the day's seven finals, the Chinese swimmers won the top honors in the men's 50m butterfly, 200m backstroke, 4x100m medley relay, and women's 100m breaststroke, women's 200m butterfly and women's 200m backstroke.

 

Only the women's 50m freestyle slipped from the hands of the Chinese.

 

In the men's 50m butterfly, Zhou Jiawei finished first in 24.11. Zhao Tao won the men's 200m individual medley in 2:01.10, his second gold medal at the championships. The Chinese quartet clocked 3:42.04 to take the men's 4x100m medley relay.

 

Ji Liping won the women's 100m breaststroke by clocking 1:08.61. Jiao Liuyang won the women's 200m butterfly with a timing of 2:08.54. Zhao Jing won the women's 200m backstroke by clocking 2:09.58.

 

In the women's 50m freestyle, China's Sun Wenting clocked 26.37 to finish second, which was won by Wilson Hannah from China's Hong Kong.

 

Up till now, the Chinese swimmers dominated the medal tally with a total of 75 medals, including 42 golds medals, 29 silver ones and 4 bronze ones.
