Beijing Kids Eager for Baseball Event
Adjust font size:

School children of Fengtai District in Beijing are eager to see the forthcoming XI World Women's Baseball Championship open at their hometown.

Some 300 kids from 13 primary schools and seven kindergartens, together with their parents assembled last Sunday at an employment and technical education center to take part in a drawing contest.

Despite the hot weather, the children used the open air concrete ground to depict their expectations for the 2008 Olympic Games and longings for the baseball event.

The competition of 16 top teams from August 27 to September 5 will be staged at Fengtai Baseball Stadium, one of the 2008 Olympic venues. The stadium, now under construction, will soon be completed and will be the first Olympic venue to be put into use.
