China's Yan Zi and Zheng Jie secured a rough victory in the first round of the women's doubles at the US Open tennis tournament in New York on Friday.

 

The duo advanced to the second round after beating the Czech Republic's Iveta Benesova and Barbora Strycova 7-5, 2-6, and 7-6 (3).
