Spain's Women Beat China 1-0 in Field Hockey
Adjust font size:

Spanish women won a hard-fought 1-0 victory over China in the women's hockey World Cup on Friday thanks to goalscorer Silvia Munoz and goalkeeper Maria Jesus Rosa, in Madrid's Campo Villa Club.

Spain's team, trained by Pablo Usoz, gave a good performance on Friday, after having beaten Germany 1-0, the reigning Olympic champion, on Wednesday; even though Germany had beaten Spain twice last week.

Spain goes on to play the Netherlands on Sunday, a team that has also won both its matches and is one of the tournaments great favorites.
