2008 people became honorary visitors on Friday to the official website of 2008 Beijing Olympics after four months' recruitment, said a statement on the website.

They were selected from 30000 applicants since the activity started on March 6.

On the list were notable names including IOC President Jacques Rogge, Vice Mayor of Beijing Liu Jingmin, NBA superstar Scottie Pippen and renowned TV host Yang Lan.

The honorary visitors will work as "online information providers," promoting the 2008 Olympics through the Internet and contributing to the preparations.
