Top 10 most popular foreign writers in China

The newly-released list of the most popular foreign writers in China showed the vast population of China is interested in a wide variety of genres from fantasy to detective, science to self-help and thriller to children's literature.

Several of his 19 works have been adapted into feature films and TV series, including the movies Suspect X and the Secret and the TV series Into the White Night. Many Chinese people know his books because of TV series or movies. His books Suspect X and the Secret were published in mainland China and became very popular.Keigo Higashino is a Japanese author chiefly known for his mystery novels. He won the Edogawa Rampo Prize for 1985's finest mystery work, After School, at the age of 27. As well mystery novels Higashino writes essays and story books for children.


Higashino made 5.3 million yuan (0.79 million US dollars) in royalties in the Chinese mainland over the past ten years through 2010.
