   The Winchester Mystery House

The Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, Calif., is a mysterious house. It was the personal residence of the widow Sarah Winchester. In 1884, Winchester wanted to build a glorious house, but it was under construction for 38 years and finished after her mysterious death. Some strange and unexplained things happened continuously after the house was completed, giving the house its name.

The house has 160 rooms with advanced district heating line system, drainage system, gas lamps, three elevators and 47 fireplaces. Many windows are embedded in the floor and stairs move toward nowhere. There is one door: If you open it, you will only see an empty wall. It is said that Winchester and another tortured soul still move around in these rooms.
