Forbes Magazine has published its annual list of the top 100 Chinese celebrities based on their income, search engine hits, and exposures in newspapers and magazines as well as television during the year from March, 2010 to February, 2011.

Thanks to the quick expansion of the entertainment industry in China, nine out of the top 10 male celebrities on the list are from show business.

Feng Xiaogang

Overall rank: 14

Chinese film director Feng Xiaogang is perhaps the most successful "commercialized" filmmaker in China, whose comedy films do consistently well in the box office, although he has recently attempted to break out from that mold by making drama or period drama films. Feng holds 2.28 percent of the shares of the Huayi Brother Media. If You Are the One 2, the most recent film he directed, was on screen at the end of last year. His income reached 65.96 million yuan (US$10.2 million) in the assessment period.
