Yesterday marks the release of the final batch of publications in DC Comic's rebooting of the DC Universe, in what is known as the New 52. This modernization and fat-trimming has meant new costumes, younger ages, continuity cleaning, and a whole batch of brand new #1 issues for 52 monthly titles, including the company’s "big three" characters Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.
Here are the top ten best comics of DC's New 52:

Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E. #1 marks the second outright horror title that demanded a spot on my top ten list, and another terrific book from scribe Jeff Lemire. Weird and unlike any other monthly, it's a blend of sci-fi horror and super-heroic secret agency of the most macabre sort. This is one of those titles that hits the ground running, and does a marvelous job of filling you in on the backstory without having to stop to take a breather from the advancing plot and action. The sheer absurdity and freakish nature of the tale, mixed with artist Alberto Ponticelli's raw horror imagery, sells this one from page one, and keeps selling it every page after that. I didn't honestly know what to expect going into this one, but believe me when I say that it's well worth the read, and a title you're liable to get immediately hooked on. It's Frankenstein's Monster as a sci-fi secret agent. How can you NOT want to read that every month?
