Justice League #1 bears credits by writer Geoff Johns and artist Jim Lee, so it's practically unnecessary to say more than that. But lest there be any lingering question, this is one of the most fun books to read and to look at of the whole New 52. It looks gorgeous, and the conversations between Green Lantern and Batman are pretty funny. I love how Johns so easily captures the personalities of the heroes and the ways they surely would interact, and he finds such excellent ways to bring each into the story one by one. Lee always provides exceptional visuals, but I really like that he went with a slower pacing in his panels here, and there are less splash pages than you'd expect. He packs so much into every panel, and finds lots of interesting perspectives from which to approach a scene. This book is an example of two of the masters of the industry working easily together to show everyone how it's done, and they also set a great tone for how to provide a book that longtime readers will love while new readers have no trouble jumping right in.
