According to a monthly survey by China Index Academy, which tracks changes in home prices in 100 Chinese cities, the average price of residential homes in September is 8,877 yuan (US$1,393) per square meter, down by 0.03 percent from the last month, having shown the first decrease since last September .
Among the 100 cities surveyed, Shenzhen topped the list with the highest home prices at 25,675 yuan (US$4,028) per square meter in September, followed by Shanghai at 23,772 yuan (US$3,730), Beijing at 23,008 yuan (US$3,610).
