Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU) was ranked 77th in 2009 with a score of 32.84. In that year, only 16.42 percent of postgraduate tutors were female and 83.58 percent were male. The female ratio was 0.42 percentage points higher than that in 2005, when the university was ranked 68th in this respect.

Located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, NAU is a national key university under the direct administration of China's Ministry of Education. It's also one of China's oldest universities specializing in the agricultural sciences, and traces its history back to the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural History of Sanjiang Normal School in 1902. Presently, NAU has a total of 2,732 staff members, of which 744 are associate professors or above. It has 660 master's supervisors and 294 doctoral supervisors.
