In line with the global economic downturn, the major 11 emerging economies --Argentina, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Turkey (the E11) also saw their growth momentum weaken last year, the report said.

However, compared with the developed economies, the E11 have maintained strong growth momentum and made some headway in economic and social development, the report noted.
