The 30th Olympiad ended with the Olympic flame being extinguished on Monday morning, Beijing time. The 16-day competition left us with many great stories. Let's recall the eight most inspiring competitions at the London Olympics.

  Sun Yang vs Park Tae Hwan

China has never played a leading role in swimming; however, China's swimming results at the London Olympics made quite a few waves, and the achievements ofSun Yang,Ye ShiwenandJiao Liuyanggarnered world-wide attention. Sun Yang is the first male Chinese swimmer to win a gold medal, and put on quite the show with his opponent Park Tae Hwan.

Park Tae Hwan is the flagship swimmer for the South Korean swimming team, and is very strong in the 200m, 400m and 1,500m freestyle, and defeated Sun Yang multiple times in the 400m freestyle. Sun Yang beat Park Tae Hwan in the 400m and 1,500m freestyle this round. However, they shared a silver medal in the 200m. In swimming match-ups between Sun Yang and Park Tae Hwan, Sun won.
