   Wilde (UK)

Wilde is a 1997 British biographical film directed by Brian Gilbert with Stephen Fry. Even though Wilde had a happy family life, he falls in love with a young man, Lord Alfred 'Bosie' Douglas. However, during the conservative Victorian Age, their relationship could never be exposed. Alfred's father objects to his son's relationship with Oscar Wilde and reveals the author's homosexuality, and Wilde is sentenced to two years' hard labor. In 1900, the 46-year-old Wilde died in Paris. Stephen Fry, who starred as Wilde, received the best actor award at the Seattle International Film Festival.
