# "Tough Out"

The sports documentary by Xu Huijing about a Beijing teenage baseball team was not about how exciting the experiences on a baseball field, but rather, how sad and hard children's lives could be, as it reveals the individual plight and suffering of team members. The film explores in depth about their lives, revealing painful realities at the grassroots, as well as the changing Chinese society. These teenagers need to be strong to overcome difficulties and rise up, swallowing their own pain, hardship and wounds with innocent hearts. Rather than a sports film, it is more a film discussing the pressures imposed by the living environment, life directions and the choices to be made.
