Swiss company Hydrovision is planning to invest CNY2.5 billion in building an underwater hotel in Xiaoyue Bay, Sanya.

The hotel is designed to be 500 to 1,000 meters away from the coast and will form a dock structure for boats to moor alongside. The 30-meter high building will have two floors above sea level and three floors under water. Four cabin decks will be built around the hotel so that guests can enjoy the sea view.

There will be over 100 luxury suites each with large glass windows that show the underwater landscape. The hotel also will have amenities such as a fitness area, a beauty care center, a library, a cigar club, a shopping center, and a submarine. The hotel will also be capable of hosting banquets and meetings.
