E-cards may have substituted paper cards for new year greetings, but post cards made of wood are popular in the Chongqing municipality.

The novel cards are made from wooden slices, and decorated with pictures. Manufacturers re-use scrap pieces of wood to create them, meaning they're also eco-friendly.

The post cards feature images of popular tourist sites in Chongqing, like the Three Gorges and Dazu Stone Sculpture. They were first commissioned by Chongqing's tourist bureau to promote the sites.

The wooden post cards are made in various shapes and patterns.
