The tent of the Kizilsu Kirgiz is often square in shape, fenced around with red willow stakes. The tent's frame is first covered with a mat made of grass, then covered with felt, but leaving a 1m/1m hole that serves as a skylight and a vent for the smoke. The tent is tied down with thick ropes to keep it steady against strong winds and snowstorms.

Interior furnishings: Clothes are put in a big wooden box opposite to the door, with felt, clothing and bedding on it. The felt blanket is found in the vacant space in front of the box and serves as a cushion during the day and mattress at night. Embroidered drapes are usually hung on the wall for decorations.
