Famed auction house Bonhams will hold Asia's first sale of rare Leica cameras, when the items go under the hammer at Bonhams Hong Kong on November 23.

The Leica collection has been the highlight of previews organized by auctioneers of fine art and antiques since Saturday in Beijing.

More than 250 lots of rare Leica cameras and accessories, including a rare Luxus I camera which is expected to fetch up to 1.8 million Hong Kong dollars (about 230,000 U.S. dollars), will be sold, according to Bonhams Hong Kong.

The items are from the collection of renowned British watchmaker George Daniels, who died in October 2011, and Imran Ahmed, according to information posted on the official website of Bonhams.

In addition to the Leica sale, auctions of fine Chinese painting and contemporary Asian art, and eight exceptional jewels from a private collection, will also be carried out by the auction house on the same day.
