CHINA-JIANGXI-YIFENG-ANCIENT TIANBAO VILLAGE (CN)

Photo taken on Jan. 30, 2013 shows a delicate wood carving on a door beam in Tianbao Village in Yifeng County, east China's Jiangxi Province. Tianbao Village, whose history is about 1,800 years, can date back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907), covering an area of more than 2.5 square kilometers. Tianbao was ever the county site of the ancient Yifeng County, carrying profound cultural connotation. There are more than 120 buildings in the village built in the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1912), all of which present high artistic value. The village has been listed in the pool of national cultural and natural heritage protection projects. [Xinhua/Song Zhenping]
