Daming Palace was the grandest and most significant palace complex in Xi'an (then Chang'an) during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) where several Tang emperors lived, managed state affairs and met with officials. A heritage park was built on the original site and opened to the public on October 2010. About two thirds of the park is free to get in. The remaining third features cultural heritage sites and exhibitions, and requires an admission fee.[China.org.cn/ by Yuan Fang]
